A simple but powerful strategy for reaching your goals
It’s so important to take time to really get clear on your goals. Part of that clarity comes from writing them down. I have a very simple but powerful tip on goal setting that I want to share with you.I create a separate index card for each of my goals. I call them goal cards. I keep these goal cards at my desk, in my bathroom and sometimes even in my car so that the goal is always in front of me. When life gets busy, keeping your written goals right in front of you reminds you of what you’re working toward, and ensures that you take the small steps needed in order to reach each of those goals. It also works on your subconscious so that you’re always looking for opportunities that support achieving that goal. I find it very rewarding when I’ve reached a goal to check it off the list, and take a minute to be grateful for accomplishing that goal.
I want to caution you that goal cards are not magic. They don’t replace the need to have a good strategy for reaching your goals. However, they help to keep your goals top of mind so you can focus on achieving what you want throughout the year.
Your homework assignment is to create a goal card and find a couple of different places to put it where you will see it frequently throughout every day. Watch how easy it is to reach your goals using this tip.
