The One Thing You Should Keep To Yourself
As a business owner, sometimes you get inspired ideas or ideas about things that you want to do in your practice. I think it’s great to have ideas, but I want to caution you about who you share those ideas with. If you're not surrounding yourself with like-minded people or like-minded colleagues, they can project their own fears about success onto you when you share your idea with them.
Things You May Hear:
That won't work.
Our industry won't handle that well.
I know someone who did that and it failed.
I encourage you to surround yourselves or find a core group of like-minded people that you can bounce ideas off of in a healthy way.
These should be people who will encourage you and inspire you and not just take their own insecurities or their own fears about success and project them onto you when you share things with them.
Having a support group when you are a small business owner is so important!
Your Support Group Can Consist of:
Colleagues.
Friends.
A life or business coach.
No matter who you choose, it's really important that you do surround yourself with like-minded, successful-minded people who will encourage you to reach your goals.
Keep dreaming and dream big, but be careful who you share your dreams with and make sure that you only share in an environment that will encourage and support you in that endeavor.
