What Are You Pretending Not To Notice?

It was such a beautiful day, I wanted to get outside and reflect on some of the conversations I have had with doctors over the past few weeks. One of the things I’ve noticed is there are things going on that the doctor is almost pretending not to notice.

I recommend you take an honest look at any area of your practice that is holding you back from reaching your goals of living the life style you want to live or having the quality of life at work you want to have. I know sometimes it's easier to sweep those things under the rug to avoid confrontation or avoid taking a closer financial look at those things stressing you or even having a difficult conversation with a team member.

It's easier to pretend not to notice those things than it is to tackle it head on!

I suggest you create a safe space outside of your office and write down the areas you feel in your gut are holding you back that you've just been pretending not to notice or you've been avoiding them altogether.

Spend some time looking at the list and

write down the next step.

You may already know the next step but you may also want to seek advice from an advisor, whether a financial advisor, clinical trainer, or practice management consultant. However, make sure it is someone who can hold you accountable to get you out of this rut.

Pretending not to notice things will only cause dissatisfaction in your practice and keep you from reaching your practice goals.

I encourage you to do this exercise. Make your list, decide what the next step is and reach out if you need help.

Sweeping things under the rug will hold you back. Facing them head on will propel you into the future and allow you to live to your full potential.
