Are Your Patients Receiving the Attention They Deserve?

As the leader of your practice, it’s up to the doctors to set the expectation concerning acceptable cell phone use in the dental practice. It is my personal belief that they are a distraction to productivity, and have the potential to keep your team from giving patients the full attention they deserve when they are in your office.

I recently attended a meeting with the Academy of Dental Management Consultants. When I walked through the door, the meeting leader had a basket where all of our cell phones went to minimize distraction. I really appreciated the reminder that we were there for a purpose, and that purpose was to learn and engage in good conversation, not to text and check on social media.

What is the cell phone policy for your practice? Are you making it a priority to put those cell phones away so you and your team can give your patients the attention they deserve?
